![]() There's even a theory that the amount of tracks in Donuts were placed purposefully to show that Dilla surpassed his expectations on his age. ![]() "Don't Cry" was used to tell his family to be happy about his legacy rather than be sad, and many other forms of tributes. A few of Dilla's genius ideas include "Waves", which was made to honor his brother (Johnny) by sampling "Johnny Don't Do It", the pause in the song "Stop". Donuts was used as an expression to show his honor and love towards his friends, family, and idols, but he didn't want any other forms of music or rhymes over his final songs. I really do appreciate that Drake used this to tribute Dilla, but there are few things that Dilla wished for that Drake didn't know about. +Julio King I've said this a lot of times to a lot of people, but Drake didn't understand J Dilla's main wish about Donuts.
